Gustav Kruger
Candidate Architectural Technologist BSc(Arch)[pret]
Gustav studied Architecture at the University of Pretoria, where he achieved distinctions in Design during every year of his studies. Before embarking on his career in architecture he studied fine art - with a particular fondness for sculpture.
The act of making is something that is quite important in his approach to architecture, specifically his approach to details. Something that is made by hand, through craftsmanship, immediately grabs his attention. He also places emphasis on the architect’s responsibility to the urban inhabitant. He sees the architect as responsible for the spaces that the inhabitant occupies, which makes it important for architecture to contribute to the urban condition.
